Making a Difference
Every child deserves to know the joy of opening presents at Christmas! Every December, Gallatin Shalom Zone is honored to be the Sumner County collection and distribution site for Marines Toys for Tots. This event requires over 300 volunteers, new toys and sports equipment, books, crafts, blankets, incalculable supplies, and the generous support of our community in order to serve families at Christmas. Last year, Toys for Tots served over 1,000 children in and around Sumner County!

Volunteer
During our favorite time of the year, join us as we unite for a common cause – to bring joy to children and families in need! Toys for Tots can only operate with the selfless service of dedicated volunteers!
Opportunities are available for individuals, families, and groups and include:
- Assist families with registering for toys
- Shop in our toy room and pack toys
- Assist with family toy pickup and loading vehicles (lift up to 30 lbs.)
- Sort incoming donations and stock the toy room
Apply for Toys for Tots
Toys for Tots is available to parents and legal guardians who are experiencing hardship in providing Christmas gifts for their children. Parents and legal guardians must come to one of the registration dates to complete the registration process, and return the following week at their assigned pickup time.
As a courtesy, applications are available at GSZ beginning December 1, 2023. Applications will also be available during registration sessions.
*Please note – registration is completed ONLY by attending one of the registration dates/times.*
Registration dates and times:
- December 11th, Monday, 9am-3 pm
- December 12th, Tuesday, 9am-3 pm
- December 13th, Wednesday, 9 am-12 pm
Please bring the following to the registration date/time of your choosing:
- Completed Application
- Photo ID
- Proof of Child guardianship (birth certificate, legal or court documentation)
- Proof of Residency (lease agreement, utility bill, electric bill, etc.)
- Proof of Financial Hardship (SNAP, TANF, CoverKids/TN Care, LIHEAP, Free/reduced lunch letter)
Toy Pickup times will be assigned at registration.
